Banking Academy of Vietnam and Vantage Foundation Partner to Enhance Financial Education

A New Era for Financial Education in Vietnam

On December 16, 2025, the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) and the Vantage Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), marking the initiation of a strategic partnership aimed at promoting financial education in Vietnam. The signing event took place at the BAV headquarters in Hanoi, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in raising the standards of financial literacy and expertise in the region.

Ceremony Highlights

The ceremony was attended by senior leaders and representatives from both institutions. BAV was represented by acting President Pham Thi Hoang Anh, Vice-President Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Director of Banking Research Institute Tran Viet Dung, and Head of Human Resources Le Ngoc Thang. Meanwhile, the Vantage Foundation was represented by Vice-President of Business Development Adam Siew, Vietnam’s Chief Representative Floyd Wang, and Global Projects Department Head Monica Wang.

Following an official reception and introductions, delegates viewed introductory videos that outlined the missions and institutional capabilities of both BAV and Vantage. These presentations provided context for the partnership based on shared educational priorities, capacity building, and long-term human capital development.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Pham emphasized BAV's commitment to collaborating with international partners to enhance the quality of research and practical relevance in financial education. Adam Siew reiterated the growing importance of education in preparing skilled professionals for the increasingly data-driven and technology-oriented financial sector. He noted that education is pivotal for sustainable development, particularly as artificial intelligence and data analysis transform financial decision-making processes.

Collaborative Educational Initiatives

The primary focus of the partnership is the joint development of educational programs that leverage international expertise and resources. The MOU outlines specific areas of collaboration, including coordinated information efforts to promote the importance of financial education.

One of the initial programs planned under this partnership is a one-day training session titled “Financial Data Analysis and Decision-Making in the Age of AI.” Tentatively scheduled for late February to early March 2026, this program will take place at BAV's Hanoi campus, with online participation available for attendees from other cities. Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion. Future plans might involve collaboration with other leading universities across Vietnam to expand the initiative further.

The signing ceremony concluded with a symbolic exchange of flowers and commemorative gifts, a group photograph, and informal networking between the representatives. This ceremonial event serves as an official announcement of the strategic partnership and does not currently encompass the launch of educational courses or activities for students.
