Zeami CyberSecurity Establishes LDOC
In a significant development for Japan's cybersecurity landscape, Zeami CyberSecurity, headquartered in Chuo City, Tokyo, has announced the establishment of the "Layered Domain Observation Center" (commonly referred to as LDOC). This marks the first time a private sector entity in Japan has launched a specialized security intelligence organization.
Purpose of LDOC
LDOC has been created to perform critical roles in the collection, investigation, and analysis of intelligence data for the next-generation security AI platform, Zeami Intelligence (ZI). In recent incident investigations, there has been a noticeable shift in focus from just addressing the leak itself to recognizing that the delay in detecting such leaks can lead to severe repercussions.
Challenges in Current Cybersecurity Practices
Recent incidents have highlighted worrying trends, where the delayed identification of data breaches results in heavy losses. Here are some of the key risks emerging:
- - Data breaches via supply chain companies leading to compromised account information.
- - File leaks originating from the PCs of contracted vendors.
- - Neglected files posted on leak sites post-ransomware attacks.
Monitoring and verifying these signs manually across diverse entities has proven insufficient. Consequently, there is a pressing need for a faster and more extensive observation framework.
Origin of LDOC
To tackle these challenges, LDOC has been established as a dedicated security intelligence team. This team will conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify indicators of data leaks, misconfiguration issues, and vulnerabilities present in external environments such as the dark web and leak sites.
Future Prospects of LDOC
The findings from LDOC's investigations will feed directly into Zeami Intelligence, enhancing detection accuracy, notification logic, and risk assessment capabilities. Approximately 99% of signals present in external environments are too ambiguous to be actionable in their raw form, and LDOC's mission will be to restructure this data into meaningful inputs tailored for corporate application.
In addition to this, there are plans to integrate LDOC's workings with AI agents currently under development, aiming to create a practical intelligence framework that merges human insights with machine processing capabilities.
At Zeami CyberSecurity, we are also in the process of developing a product named Zeami Intelligence, which will automate dark web observation and threat analysis.
