AtomVie Global Radiopharma Celebrates New Manufacturing Facility Opening
On September 7, 2026, AtomVie Global Radiopharma proudly inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ontario. This facility, located at 10 Aeropark Boulevard, marks a significant milestone in AtomVie’s ongoing mission to transform clinical successes into impactful therapies for patients around the world.
The brand new facility spans over 72,300 square feet, representing an investment of more than $160 million, making it the largest contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) facility for radiopharmaceuticals located at a single site in North America. This advanced facility enhances AtomVie’s production capabilities tenfold, allowing for both low to high throughput production. Designed for scalability, the facility supports a seamless transition from early development stages to commercial production, with customizable spaces set to adapt to the evolving needs of clients.
AtomVie is renowned as a successful entity spun off from the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC), a center established at McMaster University to bolster Canada's leadership in radiopharmaceutical innovation and manufacturing. The company currently employs a growing team of skilled professionals, with plans to expand to over 200 employees by the end of 2026 as the new facility ramps up its operations.
Building upon more than a decade of experience and recognized expertise in process and analytical method development, AtomVie has supported over 70 clinical development and technology transfer programs, manufactured over 1,000 cGMP batches, and delivered more than 4,400 cGMP doses to patients across 28 countries and six continents, boasting a delivery success rate exceeding 99%. With its new facility, AtomVie is well-positioned to scale production from clinical development to commercial manufacturing alongside its partners.
Bruno Paquin, CEO of AtomVie, stated, "This grand opening signifies the next chapter in AtomVie's journey and is a proud milestone for Canadian innovation in nuclear medicine. Above all, it propels our mission to change patients' lives by providing high-quality radiopharmaceuticals to those in need worldwide."
Kevin McNeill, Chairperson of AtomVie, emphasized, "The inauguration of AtomVie’s new facility reflects the discipline and dedication of our team as well as the confidence exhibited by our partners that have contributed to our growth. This facility solidifies AtomVie’s status as a leading CDMO for radiopharmaceuticals, now equipped at a commercial scale to provide the reliability necessary in this field."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, clients, partners, and industry members, offering site tours to witness firsthand how AtomVie’s expertise is contributing to providing the next generation of precise cancer therapies to patients globally.
