Pilot Corporation's Groundbreaking Event on Menstrual Pain
On November 4, 2025, Pilot Corporation, under the leadership of President Fumio Fujisaki, held its first-ever
Pyrionoid menstrual pain experience event. This initiative is a part of their commitment to fostering a supportive work environment where every employee can work with confidence.
Background and Objectives
Around 80% of women experience some form of menstrual pain, and for some, the severity can disrupt their daily lives and work. Unfortunately, this discomfort often goes unseen, making it hard for others to understand its impact. The aim of this experience event was to promote awareness of this “invisible pain” and encourage a culture of empathy and consideration in the workplace. It is an initiative designed to inspire employees—regardless of gender or position—to understand and support each other's health challenges.
Event Overview
- - Date: November 4, 2025
- - Participants: Pilot Corporation employees
- - Attendance: 55 employees (41 men and 14 women)
- - Activities: Participants experienced simulated menstrual pain using the Pyrionoid device, which stimulates muscle contractions. Basic knowledge on menstruation and PMS (premenstrual syndrome) was conveyed through panel exhibits and discussions.
Feedback from Participants
Employee A (Male)
“I couldn't endure the dull pain from within. Every stimulus made me hunch over. I gained a bit of understanding about how challenging it is for women to fight through this pain while working.”
Employee B (Male)
“The pain was far beyond what I had imagined. The sensation felt like being tightly constricted from inside my abdomen, and it amazed me how long that discomfort lasted. I wouldn't have been able to keep my composure if I were commuting on a crowded train or fulfilling my work tasks under such conditions. I can understand why a woman might feel irritable towards her partner during her menstrual period.”
Employee C (Male)
“I experienced three levels: mild, moderate, and severe, and it was more challenging than I had anticipated. Although everyone has their own thresholds of tolerance, the 'severe' level was so intense that I cannot imagine commuting to work and performing tasks under such conditions. While I already knew menstrual pain existed, being able to experience a simulation—if only temporarily—was a meaningful encounter that deepened my understanding of gender differences. I hope many others can experience this as well.”
Continuing Efforts
In addition to this event, the company regularly hosts
Women's Health Seminars starting from August 2025, aimed at improving health awareness among employees. Pilot Corporation is dedicated to continuously promoting understanding of health issues and fostering a work environment that accommodates everyone's needs.
Conclusion
The
Pyrionoid menstrual pain experience was an insightful endeavor that not only highlighted the challenges faced by many women but also encouraged open dialogue among employees about health issues. Pilot Corporation remains committed to creating a culture of understanding and support in the workplace, recognizing that a healthy workforce leads to greater productivity and employee satisfaction.
