Lightpath Expands Fiber Network in Phoenix with WANRack Acquisition

Lightpath's Strategic Move in Phoenix: Acquiring WANRack

In a significant development for the telecommunications industry, Lightpath, a leading fiber infrastructure provider, has successfully acquired the assets and customer base of WANRack in the Phoenix metropolitan area. This strategic acquisition not only extends Lightpath’s network reach but also positions the company as a formidable player in a rapidly growing market.

Expanding Fiber Footprint

With the addition of 133 route miles of operational fiber, Lightpath is set to enhance its service offerings significantly. The new infrastructure will establish diverse pathways connecting the Goodyear data center ecosystem with major carrier facilities in the Phoenix area. This move is a vital step towards Lightpath fully integrating into the local market and meeting the increasing demand for high-quality connectivity solutions.

The integration includes crucial connections to ten key data centers, incorporating underground, multi-duct conduit systems designed to link various emerging data center hubs situated in Goodyear, Buckeye, Chandler, Glendale, Mesa, and Tempe to Phoenix’s primary carrier exchange infrastructure. This extensive network not only strengthens Lightpath's current service provisions but also positions the company to address future bandwidth requirements for its growing customer base.

Accelerated Service Readiness

Lightpath’s CEO, Rachel Stack, emphasized how WANRack's business aligns perfectly with their objectives in the Phoenix market.
