Afternoon Beer: A Sweet and Hoppy Delight
Spring Valley Brewery (SVB) is set to unveil a unique culinary experience with its new event,
Afternoon Beer, launching on February 9, 2026, at both the Tokyo and Kyoto locations. This exciting initiative combines the art of sweets with the craft of brewing beer, inviting patrons to enjoy a distinct afternoon tea setting unlike any other.
Following the success of a similar event in November 2024, SVB aims to offer an enhanced experience this year with exclusive collaboration menus featuring desserts from renowned pastry chef
Jean-Paul Hévin at the Tokyo venue and traditional Wagashi from the centuries-old confectionery
Koufukudo in Kyoto.
Event Background
Since its inception in 2015, SVB has been pioneering craft beer and dessert pairings. The timing of this event coincides with Valentine’s Day, when sweet treats are particularly sought after, allowing more people to indulge in the surprisingly harmonious blend of sweets and craft beer. This initiative not only aims to unveil new flavors but also to create a space for customers to celebrate themselves and share precious moments with loved ones.
The event encourages guests to explore various combinations of craft beers and sweets, creating a personalized tasting journey rather than simply pairing each item one-to-one.
