YOFC's Vision for the Future
On March 3, 2025, as the global communications and technology community gathered in Barcelona, Spain for MWC Barcelona 2025, the Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) emerged as a leader with its visionary theme, "Leading a New Future With Fibre." YOFC presented a range of innovative products and solutions tailored for five core scenarios: 5G Advanced Connectivity, AI Intelligent Computing Center, Internet of Energy, Intelligent Traffic, and Enjoy Digital Life.
5G Advanced Connectivity
In response to the evolving demands of 5G and 6G technologies, YOFC unveiled significant innovations, including the G.654.E optical fiber, recognized for its ultra-high speed, capacity, and long-distance transmission capabilities. Other key exhibits included the versatile GenBand fiber designed for backbone, metropolitan area, and access networks across various applications, as well as high-end multimode fibers that enhance data center efficiency. The G.654.E fiber stands out in the industry due to its combination of a large effective area and a low attenuation coefficient, making it the optical choice for the current 400G and 800G transmission technologies, as well as future terabit optical transmission.
Having led the development of G.654.E fiber technology for over a decade, YOFC has successfully deployed its fibers at scale within network infrastructure projects for major Chinese network operators and key telecom players in countries like the Philippines and Brazil.
YOFC also introduced two groundbreaking products at MWC 2025:
- - EasyBand® Plus-Mini 173μm Fiber: This innovative fiber boasts a smaller outer diameter and bend insensitivity, effectively reducing the size and weight of fiber optic cables. It's designed to significantly improve the utilization of conduit resources, making it ideal for urban conduit network upgrades.
- - MaxBand® OM4 Pro Fiber: Engineered specifically for single-channel 100G transceivers, this fiber overcomes signal degradation caused by central wavelength shifts in optical modules. It enables a seamless transition from multimode connectivity solutions in data centers to 400G, 800G, and beyond, providing reliable connectivity to meet growing computational power demands as AI becomes deeply integrated across industries.
Advanced Fiber for AI-Powered Data Centers
Focusing on AI data center scenarios, YOFC showcased its Smart Computing Solution, featuring advanced fibers, including hollow-core and multi-core variants, accompanied by high-quality multimode fibers and optical 400G/800G modules. These technologies not only enhance computing performance but also emphasize sustainability, guiding the industry towards a greener future. Often dubbed as the
