MORIO Pay Premium Vouchers 2026 Launched in Morioka

Morioka City is excited to announce the commencement of applications for the "MORIO Pay Premium Vouchers 2026" starting from April 6, 2026. This initiative, funded through the national priority support local grant fund, aims to assist residents in coping with the rising prices of energy and essential goods.

The "MORIO Pay" app has been facilitating local transactions since March 2021, promoted by Felica Pocket Marketing Co., Ltd., in partnership with Morioka ValueCity Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the operational aspects of the program. This program includes issuing premium electronic vouchers that can provide financial relief to families and enhance local consumption.

Program Details

The premium vouchers will be released in two phases, allowing participants to buy vouchers worth 1,200 Japanese yen for just 1,000 yen, effectively giving them a 20% premium. Individuals can apply for a maximum of 30 sets, which allows them to benefit significantly as the total amount available for purchase can reach 36,000 yen for only 30,000 yen. However, if the number of applications exceeds the available vouchers, a lottery will determine the winners, giving priority to residents of Morioka City.

Moreover, the program also includes a renovation support project, where residents can receive 60,000 yen worth of MORIO Pay Premium Vouchers 2026 after completing approved renovation works in their homes. This initiative is particularly aimed at helping residents tackle the challenges posed by increased living costs.

The renovation support will be available for a limited number of 800 applicants who meet certain conditions, such as having no overdue municipal taxes and residing in owner-occupied homes. The application for this support will take place from April 13 to August 31, 2026.
