Hikari JS Mirai is committed to empowering children and youth from foreign roots for a vibrant future. Our guiding principle is to foster connections that lead to opportunities for growth and development. Through various educational initiatives, we aim to create a multicultural society where everyone can shine with a smile. Here are the four main areas of our activities:

1. Japanese Language Learning Support

We offer comprehensive support to children and parents from diverse backgrounds who do not speak Japanese as their first language. Our goal is to enhance their living experience in Japan by facilitating Japanese language education. Through tailored learning programs, we strive to broaden their horizons and help them navigate their lives more successfully.

2. Awareness and Understanding

We provide opportunities for our community to learn from professionals, such as counselors and lawyers, who share insights about the challenges faced by children from foreign backgrounds. By fostering understanding, we aim to strengthen the support systems surrounding these children, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need to thrive.

3. Promoting Multicultural Coexistence

To bridge the gap between local residents and those from foreign roots, we organize offline events where everyone can come together to enjoy activities such as music, sports, and language exchange. These gatherings create a space for cultural sharing and foster connections that transcend borders, allowing both locals and foreign residents to engage in meaningful interactions.

4. Nurturing the Next Generation

We focus on preparing children for a global future by providing guidance on life and career design. Our initiatives include producing videos that serve as helpful resources for students and training volunteers who can assist children during supplementary tutoring sessions. By investing in their growth, we prepare them to be proactive and engaged global citizens.

Upcoming Events

BRAZIL QUEST in Koiwa (September 27, 2025): Organized by a student committee with ties to Brazil, this event attracted around 5,000 participants, exceeding last year’s attendance. It’s a lively celebration of Brazilian culture in the city of Koiwa.

Business and Student Exchange Event (August 22, 2025): South American students, including those from Brazil, engaged with local companies to exchange ideas and foster connections, enhancing their professional networks.

Our Mission

In Japan, many children face challenges in learning due to various circumstances, making support crucial for their educational journey. The current system often leaves the initiation and extent of help to individual schools, which can lead to inconsistencies.

As the foreign population continues to grow in Japan, creating inclusive communities where families of all backgrounds can coexist happily is vital. Leveraging the strengths of our team, which includes former elementary school teachers, we are determined to contribute positively to the educational landscape and support regional development.

Membership Fees

• - Organizational Membership: ¥10,000 (per year)
• - Individual Membership: ¥5,000 (per year)
• - Student Membership: ¥1,000 (per year) - Graduate students are regarded as individual members.

Note: Membership for the second half of the year (October to March) is available at half price.
