A Profile of Dedication


Dr. McEvoy serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota, also contributing as the Co-Medical Director of the Asthma Center and the Medical Director of Regions Sleep Health Center. Her clinical and research expertise is centered on managing complex airway diseases such as asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, and sleep disorders, notably those associated with neuromuscular conditions.

Academic Journey


Her journey in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science in English Literature, complemented by a minor in Chemistry from Marquette University. She furthered her education by obtaining her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following her medical degree, Dr. McEvoy completed her internal medicine residency, where she was the Chief Resident, and then pursued a fellowship in pulmonary critical care, simultaneously earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) focused on Epidemiology through the university’s affiliated hospitals. She holds board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and sleep medicine.

Commitment Beyond Clinical Practice


Dr. McEvoy's involvement extends beyond clinic walls. She actively participates in medical research, advocacy, and serves on the board of the American Lung Association's Minnesota chapter. Her memberships include prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Thoracic Society, and the American College of Chest Physicians, where she’s recognized as a Fellow. She has advisory roles with the Minnesota Department of Health’s Long Covid Guiding Counsel and the Minnesota Asthma Alliance.

Community Engagement


In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. McEvoy dedicates time to community service. She volunteers with the Minnesota Boat Club, an amateur athletic organization, and has played key roles on the boards for Wilderness Inquiry and Star Swim Club, as well as The Schubert Club. Moreover, she is engaged with Gustavus Adolphus College’s Parents Advisory Council, reflecting her commitment to education and youth mentorship.
