US Companies Leverage Indian Operations to Enhance AI ROI Effectiveness
In recent years, as businesses throughout the United States ramp up their investments in artificial intelligence (AI), insights from a joint study by Zinnov and ProHance reveal the pivotal role that Indian operations play in amplifying and quantifying the impact of these AI initiatives globally. In this dynamic landscape of technological advancement, it is becoming increasingly clear that India operations are not just an alternative support system but a vital extension of innovation ecosystems within global enterprises.
According to findings from the study entitled
'Navigating AI ROI: How India Operations of Global Enterprises Can Unlock Scalable Enterprise Value', an impressive 92% of the Indian branches of international enterprises are currently either piloting or scaling AI initiatives. However, despite this proactive approach, a significant 70% of these organizations lack the structured frameworks necessary to measure their return on investment (ROI) accurately.
Karthik Padmanabhan, Managing Partner at Zinnov, commented on this evolution, stating,
“India has become an essential extension of their innovation ecosystem, not an alternative to it. The dialogue has evolved from mere adoption of AI to accountability in executing these technologies effectively.” The heightened focus among U.S. businesses on accountability in their AI investments signifies a shift towards not merely adopting technology but demonstrating its tangible business impact.
To bridge the existing gap in ROI measurement, Zinnov and ProHance have introduced an actionable
'ROI from AI' framework that is based on five crucial dimensions: maturity, baseline, adoption breadth and depth, total cost of ownership, and value delivered. This structured approach aids enterprises in aligning their AI initiatives with overarching business objectives while accurately quantifying results. Saurabh Sharma, COO of ProHance, reinforced the global perspective of AI ROI, stating that
“India operations offer the scale and depth for enterprises to operationalize AI models developed in the U.S., helping transform pilot outcomes into enterprise-wide impact.”
Furthermore, the research outlined four pivotal enablers that are essential for the sustainable scaling of AI: unified data and infrastructure, domain-specific expertise, robust governance, and measurable adoption depth. These elements collectively facilitate a transition for businesses from experimental AI endeavors to accountable, growth-focused strategies.
As pressures mounted on U.S. companies to showcase the effectiveness of their AI expenditures, it became increasingly evident that operations in India were fundamental in delivering quantifiable ROI while enhancing global competitiveness. Furthermore, the collaboration between U.S. strategies and Indian execution serves to set a measurable pace for the next stage of enterprise AI maturity.
