Bull Moose Tube Limited to Shut Down Burlington Facility Amid Market Pressures

Bull Moose Tube Limited to Close Burlington Plant

Bull Moose Tube Limited, a leader in the steel welded tubing market, has made the announcement to close its manufacturing facility located in Burlington, Ontario, effective May 31, 2025. This difficult decision, conveyed by CEO John Krupinski, is largely a response to escalating competitive pressures that have strained the operational prospects of the plant, which has been a key part of the company's Canadian operations for over 35 years.

The Burlington facility has been a critical asset for Bull Moose since 1989, catering to the Canadian market. However, the business landscape has shifted significantly, leading to oversaturation in the market and a decline in profitability for this particular operation. Krupinski expressed deep regret over the impact this closure will have on the employees, especially long-tenured staff members who have contributed to the company’s success.

"This was an extraordinarily difficult decision that we did not make lightly," said Krupinski. "We recognize the impact this closure will have on our dedicated employees, many of whom have been with us for decades, and are grateful for the positive contributions they have made over the years."

In terms of transition support, Bull Moose is committed to assisting its Burlington employees during this turbulent period. The closure does not indicate a bleak future for the company as a whole; rather, it is a strategic adjustment in response to market realities. Bull Moose has been investing heavily in its U.S. facilities and plans to continue focusing its efforts there.

The company recently made its largest capital investment in its history at the Sinton, Texas location. Bull Moose Tube's Chairman, the Hon. Ambar Paul, emphasized that while this decision affects the Burlington operations, it coincides with the company's long-term growth plans and investments in the U.S. market. "While this difficult decision affects our Burlington operations, Bull Moose remains committed to long-term growth and sustainability," said Paul.

The investments in the U.S. not only reflect a commitment to adapting in a competitive market but also focus on diversification and broadening the company’s product offerings. Customers with inquiries regarding orders and service continuity have been directed to contact their Bull Moose sales representatives directly.
