On December 13th, 2025, Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore located in Shibuya, Tokyo, will host a special event called 'Tsutaya Night Bookstore - Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore × SPRING VALLEY BREWERY' starting at midnight. Under the theme 'Kosherinat', in collaboration with SPRING VALLEY BREWERY, attendees can savor the new winter-exclusive craft beer 'Maromi no Ale' while enjoying a series of engaging activities such as a talk session, book recommendations by a concierge, and a guided store tour. Designed to evoke a homely atmosphere, this event offers a unique retreat where guests can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life to immerse themselves in literature.
The concept of this event ties back to the realization that while the bookstore is frequented by numerous customers, it can be challenging to find a quiet space to read. Launched in the winter of 2023, this initiative has been well-received, allowing limited attendees to enjoy the bookstore's ambiance luxuriously. This year, the event is themed around 'Kosherinat', derived from Norwegian, meaning 'cozy, lovely night'. December's chill and rush create the perfect backdrop for a unique night where books, beers, meals, and lanterns converge for a heartwarming experience.
Established in 1870 by William Copeland, a Norwegian-American, SPRING VALLEY BREWERY symbolizes the beginning of Japan's beer industry in Yokohama. Recognizing the beautiful springs, this brewery paved the way for future brews.
