In addition, participants learned about practical strategies to counter ransomware attacks, informed by recent incidents involving major Japanese corporations, Asahi Beer and Askul. These case studies provided critical insight into what organizations can do to protect themselves from similar attacks.

Background of the Study Session

Optima Solutions has conducted numerous P-Mark consultations and workshops over the years. Feedback from previous sessions indicated that P-Mark managers are often challenged by difficulties related to transitions between current and previous personnel. Many expressed concerns about being unable to effectively transfer knowledge regarding P-Mark operations.

It has become clear that many perceive the management of P-Mark operations as overly complex, inhibiting smooth handovers, which can lead to critical knowledge gaps. However, at Optima Solutions, we believe that by mastering fundamental concepts, such as the connection between personal information laws and relevant standards, P-Mark management becomes significantly more approachable.

To address these needs, we organized this workshop, providing an opportunity for P-Mark personnel to engage directly with consultants. The content was fundamental, yet essential for ensuring a seamless knowledge transfer to successors.

In the second portion, the topic shifted dramatically to a hands-on workshop on ransomware countermeasures. The incidents involving Asahi Beer and Askul were analyzed, prompting discussions on how companies can effectively prepare and respond to potential ransomware threats. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their strategies based on the insights provided.

The response to the workshop was overwhelmingly positive, with a participant satisfaction rate of 96%.
