Edward Jones and Alzheimer's Association Strengthen Their Alliance Until 2030 and Beyond

Edward Jones and Alzheimer's Association Extend Alliance to 2030

In a significant move to combat Alzheimer's disease and support affected families, the Alzheimer's Association has announced a crucial extension of its strategic partnership with Edward Jones, which will now continue through the year 2030. This renewed alliance signifies a deepened commitment to providing resources and assistance for communities impacted by Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

Contributions Over the Years

Since the initiation of their partnership in 2016, Edward Jones has demonstrated a robust dedication to the cause, contributing over $55 million towards the Alzheimer's Association's various programs aimed at care, research, and support. A prominent feature of this collaboration has been Edward Jones’s role as the National Presenting Sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's—the largest event of its kind that raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s-related initiatives.

As part of its renewed pledge to the Association, Edward Jones plans to donate $1 million annually over the next five years specifically to support the Walk, actively mobilizing community teams nationwide under their Diamond Level National Team designation. To date, the firm’s associates, clients, and their families have raised more than $28 million through their participation in these Walks, highlighting the collective effort to combat this devastating disease.

Recognition for Impact

In 2024, Edward Jones was recognized as the top National Team for the eighth consecutive year within the Walk, contributing an impressive 25% of all corporate fundraising revenue. This consistent performance emphasizes the firm’s effective strategies and the passionate involvement of its network in making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

Joanne Pike, CEO of the Alzheimer's Association, expressed her gratitude towards Edward Jones, stating, "The Alzheimer's Association is immensely proud of its long-standing strategic alliance with Edward Jones, and we are deeply grateful for its continued support. Edward Jones and its associates have passionately supported our mission, making a profound difference in the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer's and other dementia." These sentiments reflect not only a partnership of financial backing but a shared vision for the future of Alzheimer’s research and care.

The Broader Perspective on Alzheimer's

Currently, there are over 7 million individuals living with Alzheimer's in the United States, a number that underscores the urgency of support and resources available to these communities. Edward Jones estimates that approximately 300,000 of its clients are grappling with Alzheimer's or other dementia-related challenges. Through initiatives like the promotion of the Association’s free 24/7 Helpline, the firm has been instrumental in connecting around 3,000 families to the Alzheimer's Association for much-needed consultations on dementia care.

Penny Pennington, managing partner of Edward Jones, highlighted the impact of Alzheimer's, stating, "Alzheimer's can have a devastating impact on the lives of those we serve and work alongside—disrupting a family's ability to save, plan, and achieve more possibilities in their lives. We're proud to renew our commitment with the Alzheimer's Association, funding critical research, supporting caregivers, and expanding access to resources. Together, we can help create a future without Alzheimer's."

Investing in Research

Aside from leading the Walk initiatives, Edward Jones has earmarked close to $1 million for research advancements through the Edward Jones Research Fund and the AAIC For All initiative. These investments are expected to promote groundbreaking explorations in Alzheimer's and dementia treatment and management.

To date, Edward Jones has committed an impressive total of $11 million toward research initiatives that encompass comprehensive works across labs, clinics, and communities. Their contributions support various studies, including the U.S. POINTER Study, the International Research Grant Program, and the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC).

Such efforts also extend to co-funding initiatives like the DIAN-TU Next Generation and supporting early-career dementia researchers at Washington University in St. Louis, paving the way for the next generation of dementia breakthroughs.

Looking Ahead

Both organizations are enthusiastic about the future. Dr. Pike concluded, "Edward Jones and its associates continue to be extraordinary partners in our mission to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Together, we've accomplished so much in a short span—and we look forward to achieving even more in the years ahead for the millions of families affected by this disease."

As this partnership evolves, it brings hope and momentum to multiple families dealing with the challenges posed by Alzheimer’s, ensuring they have the support and resources to navigate these difficult times.
