Delta Expands in EMEA with New Sustainable Headquarters in Hoofddorp
Delta's Strategic Expansion in EMEA
Delta Electronics, a leader in power management and sustainable solutions, has unveiled an ambitious plan for expansion in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. The company will establish a new regional headquarters in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, marking a significant milestone in their growth strategy.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, this cutting-edge facility will occupy approximately 9,300 square meters on the prestigious Business Campus Park 20|20. Designed to accommodate 350 employees from various departments including engineering, business development, and management, the new headquarters aims to achieve a net-zero energy balance and is set to receive the prestigious BREEAM Outstanding certification for sustainable construction.
The local government and national bodies have expressed strong support for this project. Marianne Schuurmans, the Mayor of Haarlemmermeer, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Delta Electronics, a global leader in sustainable technology, to our region. With our excellent international connections and vibrant economy, Haarlemmermeer is the ideal location for forward-thinking companies. Delta's commitment to energy efficiency and smart infrastructure not only strengthens our local economy but also aligns with our vision for a sustainable future.”
Hilde van der Meer from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) also praised Delta's expansion, saying, “We greatly welcome Delta Electronics' growing presence in the Netherlands and appreciate the long-standing relationship we have with the company. Their innovative technologies contribute significantly to the developments taking place in our country.”
The new regional headquarters will serve as a vital hub for Delta's initiatives across the EMEA region, driving innovations and enhancing customer support. Dalip Sharma, President and General Manager of Delta Electronics EMEA, emphasized the strategic importance of Hoofddorp due to its proximity to key clients, partners, and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, which is a gateway to the European market. He highlighted that the campus's emphasis on sustainability aligns perfectly with Delta’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values.
The new office building, a collaborative project with GS and designed by the renowned MVSA Architects, is intended to promote innovation and teamwork. It will feature a central five-story atrium that allows natural light deep into the building, as well as spaces for showcasing Delta's latest technologies, laboratories, meeting rooms, and areas for creativity and relaxation. Employee wellbeing is a priority; hence, the design includes an advanced climate ceiling system that provides draft-free radiant heating and cooling.
In a further commitment to sustainability, the building roof will be covered with around 715 solar panels, expected to produce over 335,500 kWh of renewable energy annually, covering the building's estimated annual consumption. Additional energy-saving architectural features and integration with Park 20|20's geothermal heating system and Delta's Energy Storage System (ESS) reinforce Delta's commitment to environmental standards, aiming for BREEAM Outstanding certification.
Through this new infrastructure, Delta solidifies its position in the EMEA region, fosters a culture of innovation, and strengthens its foothold as a leading provider of energy-efficient solutions.
