Japan JC Partners with Cainz for Disaster Relief Supplies Agreement

On November 28, 2025, the Japan Junior Chamber (Japan JC), led by President Masahiro Sotoguchi, entered into a significant partnership with Cainz, a well-known home center chain headquartered in Honjo, Saitama. The two organizations signed an agreement aimed at facilitating the supply of essential goods during disasters, ensuring that affected areas receive timely and effective support.

Purpose of the Agreement

The core objective of this new agreement is to enable Japan JC to accurately assess the needs of communities impacted by disasters. In turn, Cainz commits to supplying these necessary materials from its logistics hubs and stores located near the disaster-affected areas. This collaboration seeks to streamline disaster response efforts, improving the speed and accuracy of aid deliveries.

During the signing ceremony, key representatives from both organizations were present, including Kentaro Onishi, head of the Urban Planning Promotion Division at Cainz, and Masahiro Sotoguchi from Japan JC. Their collective efforts reflect a shared commitment to enhancing disaster response capabilities across the nation.

Previous Collaboration and Network

Japan JC has already established a robust disaster response network across many regional junior chambers. They have been actively involved in addressing urgent needs during several large-scale disasters, including:
  • - The Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024
  • - The Iwate Prefecture wildfires in Ofunato City in 2025
  • - The Kyushu heavy rain disaster in 2025.

These experiences have provided Japan JC with valuable insights into the immediate needs that arise in the wake of such events, allowing for more effective and timely assistance.

Strengthening Support Mechanisms

The collaboration with Cainz significantly enhances the logistical capabilities for disaster supply delivery. With 262 stores spread across 29 prefectures, Cainz's extensive network allows for a flexible and responsive approach to providing necessary materials tailored to the specific challenges of each disaster scenario.

By leveraging this partnership, Japan JC seeks to increase its capacity for coordinated disaster relief, ensuring that support is not only swift but also adaptable to the varying needs that arise during emergencies.

Commitment to Safety and Resilience

Moving forward, Japan JC is dedicated to furthering its efforts in disaster prevention and mitigation. The organization’s ongoing initiatives aim to foster a 'safe and secure society,' emphasizing the importance of preparedness and collective resilience in the face of potential disasters.
