The fieldwork, which spanned two weeks, involved collecting 200 rock samples across the Huemul project terrain, marking a milestone in the exploration efforts for this nearly 27,000-hectare district. The preliminary findings highlight visible mineralization consistent with historical data, including targeted minerals such as uranium, copper, and vanadium. Historical records indicate average head grades of 0.21% uranium, 2.0% copper, and 0.11% vanadium from previous mining activities in the region, a promising indicator for future evaluations.

Significant Findings from the Fieldwork

During the sampling campaign, the field team notably discovered two prominent outcrops near the former Huemul mine site that exhibited visible uranium and copper mineralization, aligning with the historical accounts of the area’s mineral wealth. Furthermore, for the first time, historic mine dumps were assessed, revealing the presence of mineralization that warrants further analysis. This area had previously been overlooked for sampling and could represent an exciting opportunity for discovery.

In addition, the southern section of the project revealed multiple locations with mineralization indications. One significant finding was at the Uryco zone, where the team identified a potentially extensive 4-kilometer-long copper trend in outcrop, suggesting a more robust mineral system than previously believed. However, it’s crucial to note that definitive assessments will await laboratory results to validate these observations.

A Legacy of Mining Excellence

The Huemul Project is steeped in history as it hosts Argentina's first-ever producing uranium mine, which operated from 1955 until 1975 under the Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica (CNEA). This mine processed approximately 130,000 tonnes of ore, and the land remains largely unexplored with modern techniques. Given the combination of existing historical data and previously mined material, there exists a strong belief that this project merits systematic exploration.

Mendoza: A Mining Jurisdiction on the Rise

Mendoza Province is undergoing substantial changes in its approach to mining, enhancing its position as an influential mining jurisdiction in Argentina. The Malargüe department, with a rich history of mineral exploration, is recognized for its copper, uranium, and vanadium resources, among others. In a recent move, Jaguar Uranium formalized its collaboration with the provincial government through a partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Environment, solidifying its commitment to align with local regulatory frameworks. This agreement, alongside the U.S.-Argentina Framework for Securing Critical Minerals Supply established in February 2026, reinforces the Huemul Project's strategic role within critical mineral supply chains.

President and CEO Steven Gold expressed excitement regarding the preliminary observations made during the field campaign, stating, "The visible mineralization we observed... aligns with historical records that first drew us to Huemul.
