Fontainebleau Miami Beach Celebrates Opening of Coastal Convention Center

On December 11, 2024, Fontainebleau Miami Beach marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its highly anticipated Coastal Convention Center. The event, featuring a ceremonial ribbon cutting, drew a crowd of community leaders, dignitaries, and VIPs who joined Fontainebleau Development’s Chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Soffer, in celebrating this monumental occasion.

Jeffrey Soffer highlighted the vision behind this ambitious project, saying, "When we purchased Fontainebleau Miami Beach in 2005, this property was always part of our dream for creating something extraordinary. After two years of meticulous design and construction, we are thrilled about the opportunities the Coastal Convention Center will bring to our community."

The event kicked off with an address from Philip Goldfarb, Chief Operating Officer of Fontainebleau Development. He emphasized, "Today, we celebrate the opening of the Coastal Convention Center—a moment that perfectly encapsulates our legacy, commitment to excellence, and the vibrant community we cherish. Thank you to all our distinguished guests and partners who made this vision a reality."

The Coastal Convention Center’s opening symbolizes Fontainebleau Miami Beach's dedication to growth and its commitment to luxury hospitality. As the resort approaches its 70th anniversary on December 21, 2024, this new facility is poised to enhance Miami Beach's reputation as a premier destination for meetings and conventions.

David Whitaker, President and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, expressed his enthusiasm for the new opening, stating, "The Coastal Convention Center is a significant asset for Miami-Dade County, allowing us to attract larger and more diverse events. This hotel is a shining jewel of Miami Beach that continuously evolves, showcased perfectly with this new addition."

Designed in collaboration with Executive Vice President of Design at Fontainebleau Development, John Rawlins, along with Jeffrey Beers International and Nichols Architects, the Coastal Convention Center features five stories and spans an impressive 45,000 square feet. The facility includes a stunning 7,000-square-foot rooftop deck and is designed to accommodate a range of business and leisure events. Its prime location, just nine miles from Miami International Airport and 28 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, enhances its appeal. The venue connects to Fontainebleau Miami Beach via a sky bridge, augmenting the resort's existing 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

Brittnie Bassant, President and CEO of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, stressed the economic benefits of the Coastal Convention Center, stating, "This center will significantly impact our local businesses and the broader community, transforming the landscape of Miami Beach. It embodies the strength of partnership and collaboration."

In conclusion, Fontainebleau Miami Beach continues to set a standard for luxury and innovation in hospitality.
