National Police Association Calls for Unity Against Violence Targeting ICE Agents Amid Rising Attacks

National Police Association Condemns Violence Against ICE Agents

Indianapolis, Oct. 30, 2025 – In a significant move underscored by growing public concern, the National Police Association (NPA) has endorsed a proposed resolution introduced in the House of Representatives aimed at condemning the disturbing wave of violent attacks against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

ICE agents have been at the forefront of national security, diligently working to remove individuals accused of heinous crimes including murder, human trafficking, and terrorism. Despite their crucial role in safeguarding the nation, these dedicated professionals face increasing hostility, including harassment and physical assaults. The NPA's endorsement of House Resolution (H.Res. 767) reaffirms the commitment to protect these officers who significantly contribute to maintaining law and order in society.

The Proposed Resolution

Introduced by Representatives Russell Fry (SC-07), August Pfluger (TX-11), Roger Williams (TX-25), and Pete Sessions (TX-17), the resolution denounces the uptick in violent incidents directed at ICE agents and their facilities. It articulates a sense of regret for those who have suffered injuries or fatalities, reflecting on the broader implications of such violence not just for law enforcement but for public safety as a whole. The resolution emphasizes several critical points:

1. Denouncement of Violence: It explicitly condemns the increase in violent attacks and threats against ICE personnel and expresses sorrow for the victims, including detainees.
2. Affirmation of Role: The resolution strongly affirms the vital role ICE agents play in enforcing immigration laws, thus contributing to national security and public safety.
3. Call for Law Enforcement Cooperation: It urges the Department of Homeland Security, along with other federal, state, and local agencies, to investigate these hostile incidents and to implement measures to safeguard law enforcement professionals from harm.

Context of Increased Attacks

The current climate has seen a rise in aggressive actions targeted at ICE agents, including doxing attempts, bounties on their heads, and other forms of intimidation. This growing hostility not only threatens the safety of these officers but may also have a chilling effect on law enforcement’s capacity to perform their duties effectively.

Paula Fitzsimmons, Legislative Director of the NPA, strongly criticized the hostile environment surrounding ICE agents, stating, "The harassment, assaults, and baseless hostility directed at the agents who strive to uphold our immigration laws is unacceptable. Congress must take a stand against this reckless behavior."

A Message to Congress

The NPA extends its gratitude toward the sponsors of the resolution for their unwavering support of ICE agents. Fitzsimmons emphasizes the necessity for Congress to unite in backing this resolution, asserting that it sends a powerful message: assaults on ICE agents won't be tolerated. Such clarity is critical in today’s polarized environment where rhetoric can incite violence.

Joining the Fight

The National Police Association appeals to all congressional members to rally behind this essential resolution, thereby reinforcing the protection of those who protect the communities. To support ongoing anti-crime and pro-police legislation, individuals are encouraged to join the NPA’s Call to Action team, receiving updates about legislative initiatives and allowing direct communication with lawmakers.
