Introduction
On October 1, Valtra, a renowned Finnish tractor manufacturer, and part of AGCO Corporation, introduced the 6th generation of its T Series tractors. Designed for today's professional farmers and contractors, this new generation offers exceptional performance, advanced technology, and user-friendly features.
Enhanced Performance and Features
The T Series now boasts a power range from 170 to 245 horsepower, making it suitable for a variety of agricultural and contracting tasks. One of the standout features of this new model is the SmartTouch Gen2 control system. This innovative interface includes a 12-inch touchscreen with ten times the processing power of its predecessor, enabling the quick adjustment of personal driver and equipment profiles tailored to various operational conditions.
User-Centric Design
The development of the 6th generation T Series focused on maximizing user experience. Automated power controls, application-specific driving modes, customizable controls, and digital farm management systems all contribute to reducing the complexity that often comes with modern agricultural machinery. This ensures operators can focus more on their work without being overwhelmed by technology.
"The 6th generation T Series is our most significant product launch in Valtra's history," said Matti Tiitinen, Valtra's Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EME. "We have listened closely to the needs of farmers and contractors, and the new T Series combines more power, lower operating costs, better connectivity, extensive customization options, and ease of use."
Sustainability and Efficiency
Central to the new T Series is the newly developed AGCO Power CORE75 engine—a 7.5-liter 6-cylinder powerhouse that delivers impressive performance while maintaining environmental sustainability. The T236 model reaches up to 245 horsepower and produces a maximum torque of 1,184 Nm. Thanks to the smart power management system, the engine optimally adjusts its performance, providing high torque at lower RPMs, thus reducing fuel consumption by up to 5% compared to previous models.
Drivers can choose among Eco, Normal, and Power modes, ensuring consistent performance across varying loads. Additionally, the T Series offers either an stepless AGCO ML 180 CVT transmission or a new 10-speed power shift transmission, achieving transport speeds of up to 57 km/h.
Innovative Control Systems
The SmartTouch Gen2 operator's station represents a massive leap in user-friendly technology. Starting in just 22 seconds, the system integrates a high-definition 12-inch touchscreen with customizable layouts for up to 16 different screen areas. This allows for quick access to driver profiles, job profiles, and assigns up to twelve functions at the operator's discretion.
Moreover, integrated features for GPS tracking, ISOBUS, and equipment management facilitate more efficient workflows. The tractor also includes a new assistance feature, providing essential information and QR codes to help new drivers familiarize themselves with the controls quickly.
Connected Agriculture
The 6th generation T Series comes ready for the PTx FarmENGAGE platform, allowing for seamless management of machine data, job information, and communication between the office and field. This enables effective documentation transfer and processing, even in mixed fleets with equipment from various manufacturers. Additional automation features like Tractor Implement Management enhance work quality, decrease driver workload, and improve machine performance under demanding conditions.
Johan Grotell, Product Marketing Manager at Valtra, stated, "The new Valtra T Series merges intelligent operation, high performance at low engine speeds, and modern farm management solutions to create a remarkably intuitive driving experience. With FarmENGAGE, we're entering a new era of connected ecosystems where machines, implements, management, and data work seamlessly together, regardless of manufacturer."
