University of Tulsa Receives $2.5 Million Gift for Engineering and Computer Science

A Transformative Donation: $2.5 Million from the Pietri Family

The University of Tulsa has announced an extraordinary gift of $2.5 million from Antonio J. Pietri, a proud alumnus and chemical engineer, alongside his wife, Sabine. This generous contribution is dedicated to advancing the College of Engineering and Computer Science, marking a significant milestone in enhancing educational opportunities and facilities.

Antonio, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tulsa (B.S. '87), has shown remarkable dedication to his alma mater. Currently the CEO of PowerSchool, a leading provider of cloud-based educational software, Antonio's career spans over three decades at Aspen Technology Inc., where he worked on software solutions for process industries. His commitment to education and innovation is echoed in his recent generosity, which not only honors his legacy but also promises an enriching future for the college.

As part of this transformative gift, construction and maintenance of The Pietri Family Design and Innovation Laboratory will be funded. This state-of-the-art facility aims to offer critical experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to the laboratory, the donation will also establish two endowed faculty fellowships, namely the Antonio A. Pietri Faculty Fellow I and II, named in honor of Antonio’s father, who graduated from the same institution in 1961.
