In a significant move to enhance cloud native skill development, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) has partnered with Linux Foundation Education and Udemy. This collaboration aims to streamline the pathways for training and certification in cloud native technologies, a sector that is witnessing unprecedented growth and demand for skilled professionals.

The partnership merges Udemy's extensive training resources with critical certification exams, including Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), and the newly introduced Cloud Native Platform Engineer (CNPE). This unified purchasing process is designed to simplify the journey for developers and site reliability engineers striving to validate their expertise.

Addressing the Skills Gap

A recent report by the Linux Foundation highlighted a pressing skills crisis in technology, underlining that gaps exist in various areas including AI engineering (47% of respondents), cybersecurity (40%), and cloud computing (29%). As organizations escalate their move towards cloud-based infrastructures, the need for well-trained professionals has never been more critical. This initiative seeks to address these ongoing challenges by offering integrated and accessible training solutions.

Chris Aniszczyk, the CTO of CNCF, emphasized that
