Regal Global Entertainment Reports Impressive Growth in Q1 2026

Regal Global Entertainment has made a significant impact in the first quarter of 2026, demonstrating solid performance both in the U.S. and internationally. The company not only outperformed the overall box office but also gained considerable momentum across various aspects of its business, which include film performance, alternative content, premium formats, and enhanced food and beverage options.

Eduardo Acuna, the Chief Executive Officer of Regal Global Entertainment, expressed pride in the company's achievements, stating: "We have entered 2026 with remarkable momentum. What is noteworthy is not just the impressive performance at the box office, but the consistency with which our teams across the globe are executing their strategies. This spans driving performance on the biggest films, supporting emerging content, and enhancing the overall experience for our guests. This combination allows us to outperform and continue expanding our market share."

The key to Regal's Q1 success was bolstered by significant performances from major releases. The company achieved a 17.28% market share in the United States with its top title, Project Hail Mary, and a robust 18.66% share with the anticipated sequel, Avatar Fire Ash, across Regal's domestic locations. Notably, premium formats accounted for 13% of all domestic ticket sales during the quarter, driving more than 20% of admissions revenue. Regal also achieved impressive attendance growth internationally, with films like Hamnet and The Housemaid continuing to contribute positively.

Furthermore, Regal's curated repertory programming played a crucial role in generating additional ticket sales, with approximately 420,000 tickets sold in the United States and 205,000 in the United Kingdom throughout the quarter. Monthly themes like "Back to the Beginning," "XOXO, Regal," and "And the Award Goes to..." have positively influenced attendance and provided greater value for viewers.

Regal has been recognized as a leader in alternative and event-driven content and made strides in supporting content creators. They were the first major U.S. exhibitor to showcase Markiplier's Iron Lung, which played a pivotal role in its notable accomplishment of surpassing $41 million in the domestic box office. Additionally, Regal's international titles performed well, exemplified by their highest-grossing Indian film to date, Dhurandhar The Revenge.

Food and beverage service also excelled during this quarter, showing a 9% increase in spend per patron in the United States and an impressive 17% growth in international markets. In a bid to enhance their U.S. theater offerings, Regal introduced 300 conveyor ovens, significantly improving their hot food program. They have also rolled out ICEE and DRIPS by Pepsi platforms while launching a range of themed food items tied to major movie releases.

A new digital ordering platform, which facilitates online concession ordering, is now operational in more than 95% of Regal's U.S. locations, allowing customers to easily order their snacks via mobile or web. This effort is aimed at elevating the guest experience further.
