Robert Akiyama Shines in New TV Commercial
The beloved comedian Robert Akiyama, known for his work with the comedy trio Robert, has embarked on an unexpected venture as a taste-testing staff in a TV commercial for "Aran", Japan's first functional food egg rich in lutein. The new commercials, consisting of two 15-second spots, will start airing on August 20, 2026, in the Kanto region and the Hiroshima, Okayama, and Kagawa areas, followed by a release in the Kansai region from September 14, 2026.

Set in a bustling supermarket environment, the commercials feature Akiyama portraying a taste-testing staff member named "Shindenbaru Miyu." In these ads, he performs an original song titled "Aran no Uta" (Aran's Song), further enhancing the product's appeal and memorability. The lighthearted approach in the first commercial invites customers into the taste-testing experience, repeatedly mentioning "Aran" and "lutein" to help engrain the product’s name in viewers' minds. Meanwhile, the second ad shifts tones, showcasing Akiyama emotionally singing about the egg's daily value, even shedding a tear from the impact of his own heartfelt performance.
Comprehensive Marketing Campaign
Beyond the TV commercials, Takashima Sangyou is rolling out a comprehensive online and social media advertising campaign. This includes quirky web spots where Akiyama performs as a calligrapher, dubbed
