In a groundbreaking move, KINECTRICS has secured a contract with HIGHVOLT to significantly bolster its high-voltage (HV) cable testing capabilities. This collaboration entails the acquisition of an additional ten mobile resonant test systems (RTS), marking a substantial investment from KINECTRICS and its parent company, BWXT. This strategic expansion is poised to firmly establish KINECTRICS as the foremost independent provider of on-site HV cable testing services on a global scale.

The impetus behind this keen expansion is propelled by the evolving landscape of renewable energy projects, which are projected to substantially increase the demand for high-voltage cables. The necessity for reliable commissioning services has never been more critical. Once the cable installation is concluded, the commissioning testing process is essential for ensuring a seamless transition from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to the developer or owner. This pivotal procedure includes tasks such as withstand testing and monitored withstand testing, compliant with IEC standards 60840, 62067, and 63026. These tests are integral in identifying potential defects that may affect the longevity and reliability of the cables, thus aiding clients in circumventing costly failures while the equipment is in use.
