Wyndham Celebrates 100th Days Inn Hotel Opening in China
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has reached a significant milestone in its expansion within the Asia Pacific region by inaugurating its 100th Days Inn hotel in China. The latest addition,
Days Inn by Wyndham Shantou Jinping, exemplifies the thriving growth of the Wyndham brand since the organization reacquired direct franchising rights for Days Inn in 2019.
This remarkable development highlights the brand's robust performance in one of the world's most dynamic travel markets. Over the last five years, Days Inn in China has reported impressive double-digit net room growth, contributing to a
14% increase in Wyndham's overall direct franchising business during the same timeframe. The expansion shows no signs of slowing, with a
25% year-on-year increase in the brand's pipeline projected through the end of Q1 2025, powered by China's booming tourism sector which is expected to be the largest travel market globally within the next decade.
Joon Aun OOI, the President of Asia Pacific at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the company’s dedication to expanding its footprint in China. He remarked,
“Wyndham boasts a leading presence in the Chinese market, and we are committed to advancing this strong position in the future. Our Days Inn brand offers a reliable hospitality experience that caters to both owners and guests, supported by the world's largest hotel franchisor. With opportunities ahead, we're excited for continued success within China's vibrant tourism industry.”
At the same time, Xiaoyi LIN, the owner of Days Inn by Wyndham Shantou Jinping, shared insights on their approach, stating,
“At our newest location, we are blending the essence of Chaoshan culture with modern hospitality. Thanks to Wyndham's extensive network and powerful loyalty program, we can attract guests while utilizing resources that facilitate unique guest experiences.”
