Despite being one of the few Jestral who can speak the human language, Monoko possesses a calm demeanor akin to that of a scholar, contrasting sharply with his clumsy, rough gestures. Although the Jestral are not influenced by the mysterious beings known as the Paintless, Monoko's insatiable thirst for battle has compelled him to join the expedition team.
