This PoC aims to enhance product data management through AI technology, paving the way for personalized customer experiences.

Background and Objectives



Cainz, headquartered in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, is continually striving to enhance customer experiences through its online platforms and owned media. To better cater to individual customers, Cainz seeks to implement personalized marketing strategies that align product data with customer attributes and tags. However, with the vast number of products available, it is impractical to manually assign these essential tags. Thus, this PoC was conducted to explore the feasibility of automating this process using AI.

Overview of the PoC and Achievements



The PoC focused on challenging product categories by testing the Lazuli PDP's AI capabilities for category estimation and automatic tag generation. The implementation not only addressed the product master data but also incorporated content from Cainz’s owned media. This integration allows for a comprehensive understanding of both products and content according to a common axis.

As a result, a robust marketing framework has been established that links products to relevant content based on customer interests. Furthermore, instead of retaining generated tags in bulk, a scoring system was developed to indicate the strength of the correlation between tags and products. This approach is anticipated to enhance search accuracy and prioritize recommendations effectively.

Future Developments



Following the success of the initial PoC, Cainz and Lazuli are expanding the scope to include multiple categories for further validation. By rapidly deploying the common framework for category estimation and tag generation, both companies aim to streamline the process of enhancing product data management throughout Cainz’s organization.
