Winterberg Investment X Achieves Success with 35 Million Euro Fund Closure

Winterberg Investment X Surpasses Capital Target

Winterberg Investment X, a fund managed by Winterberg Advisory GmbH, has recently completed its second closing round, achieving remarkable success by surpassing its initial capital target. Originally aiming for between 20 and 25 million euros, the fund exceeded expectations by raising a total of 35 million euros, which includes future commitments from management.

This additional capital will significantly bolster Winterberg’s ongoing efforts to expand its Swiss platform in the field of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services. The fund has made two acquisitions so far and is actively seeking to acquire more small and mid-sized companies within this sector.

Located in Baar, Switzerland, TIC Holding Schweiz AG was established at the end of last year in collaboration with Yana Investment Partners, a leading European small-cap investment specialist, aiming to create a market-leading provider of accredited SERVICES in the TIC market. With two companies already acquired, a third transaction is expected to close soon.

The companies under the TIC Holding umbrella, such as Metron Measurement SA and TransGeo AG, specialize in calibrating tools and measurement instruments, alongside performing various chemical, mechanical, and other tests on industrial materials and products. They are fully accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS). Considering the growing regulatory demands, the TIC sector is viewed as resilient during economic challenges and highly attractive to investors.

Fabian Kröher, the Chairman of the Board of TIC Holding Schweiz AG and a partner at Winterberg, noted, "Following the successful launch of TIC Holding Schweiz, potential acquisition opportunities are promising and our portfolio companies are demonstrating strong financial performance. It's no surprise our second fundraising round was significantly oversubscribed, with total potential commitments exceeding 50 million euros."

Adding to this, Ralph Nowak, another partner at Winterberg, pointed out that the firm is currently in discussions with multiple potential acquisition targets, particularly entrepreneurs seeking long-term succession solutions. “We are confident in our ability to create another relevant Swiss industrial group and to invest our investors' capital efficiently and responsibly,” he stated.

Dr. Hanspeter Bader, the founding partner of Yana Investment Partners and a board member of TIC Holding Schweiz AG, expressed his satisfaction, saying, “The exceptional demand from investors in this second round exceeded all our expectations. We are proud to have recognized the group’s growth potential early on and look forward to shaping the strategic direction of TIC Holding Schweiz AG alongside Winterberg.”
