Bird lovers, get ready for an exciting event as the 5th Annual Nara Finch Festival takes flight this September! Organized by Kotori Cafe, known for its cozy environment where you can sip coffee while enjoying the company of our feathered friends, this year’s festival promises a week full of delightful activities and stunning displays.

Event Highlights

When and Where

From September 17th (Wednesday) to September 23rd (Tuesday, national holiday), the festival will unfold at the 3rd-floor event hall of Kintetsu Department Store Nara, located at 2-4-1 Saidaiji Higashimachi, Nara City. Visitors can enjoy the festivities from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a special closing time of 4:00 PM on the final day.

Unique Exhibitions and Merchandise

At this year’s festival, popular creators from across Japan will come together, showcasing an array of unique finch-themed artworks and products. You can find exclusive items inspired by Nara, adding to the appeal of this cultural festival—perfect for collectors and bird enthusiasts alike!

The festival will also feature collaboration items from Emi, the visual artist behind the event, at the Fruits & Sweets Cafe Furu Furu in Kintetsu Nara. Enjoy delicious treats specifically designed to capture the essence of the festival!

Special Guest Appearances

Prepare for delightful surprises! Renowned artist Chiharu Sakazaki will be selling signed books and silk screens. Additionally, the popular Komugi, famous for her delightful four-panel comics, will have selected displays that fans won’t want to miss. We’re also excited to announce that Saori Tsuji, known for her unique furoshiki finch designs, will make her first appearance at the event this Saturday!
