Genetec and MCPC Collaborate to Showcase Digital Twin Technology at WJ × WTP 2025

Genetec and MCPC Team Up to Present Cutting-Edge Digital Twin Solutions

Event Overview
Genetec Inc., a leading provider of integrated software solutions, has announced an exciting collaboration with the Mobile Computing Promotion Consortium (MCPC) to jointly showcase innovative technologies at one of Japan's largest wireless technology exhibitions, WJ × WTP 2025. This event will take place from May 28 to 30, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight, drawing attention from industry experts, government officials, and technology enthusiasts alike.

This joint exhibition marks the first time MCPC will display its member companies' advancements under a single pavilion, highlighting the significance of this collaboration in promoting mobile computing solutions and digital twin technology across various sectors.

Highlighting Wireless Communication Simulation
At the exhibition, Genetec will unveil its cutting-edge Wireless Communication Simulation technology, developed in partnership with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). This technology employs advanced simulation and visualization techniques to optimize and assess wireless communication environments, particularly in settings like manufacturing facilities and logistics centers.

The centerpiece of Genetec's showcase will be a demonstration of this simulation tool as an add-on to FlexSim, the popular 3D simulation software. By recreating the communication scenarios of wireless devices in a digital twin environment, Genetec aims to provide a quantitative analysis of productivity, helping businesses enhance operational efficiency using IoT technologies such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR).

Driving Digital Transformation in Japan’s Industries
Genetec has been a proud MCPC member and has played a pivotal role in the Quantum Computing and Digital Twin Promotion Working Group. Thanks to its long-term dedication to developing digital twin solutions, Genetec has gained recognition as a leader in this area, paving the way for this historic partnership.

As automation accelerates in the manufacturing and logistics sectors, particularly through the deployment of AGVs and AMRs, ensuring an efficient and safe wireless communication infrastructure has become a critical task. By leveraging digital twin technology, Genetec not only addresses this challenge but also actively promotes its application in Japan's industrial landscape.

Additionally, Genetec will showcase its disaster location-sharing application, Cocodayo, which utilizes proprietary technology to automatically notify users of their family members' locations during emergencies. This aims to support businesses in accelerating their digital transformation efforts.

Showcasing FlexSim
FlexSim, a product developed in the United States, has established a strong reputation globally, with nearly 60,000 licenses distributed across 81 countries. This 3D simulation software facilitates the optimization of logistics and production processes by creating simulated models of factories and warehouses, enabling users to analyze the movements of people, goods, and time effectively. By connecting statistical data on machine and worker utilization to build digital twins, FlexSim identifies operational bottlenecks and provides optimal solutions for cost reduction and workforce efficiency. You can learn more about FlexSim here.

About Cocodayo
The Cocodayo app is a disaster location sharing tool designed to automatically notify users of family members' last known locations before communication becomes difficult. Since its launch, the app has been downloaded over 1.7 million times, with a remarkable retention rate of around 98%. The underlying patented technology has received 37 patents both domestically and internationally, and Genetec is considering global expansion to meet a wider range of user needs. More information on Cocodayo is available here.
