Kalfus & Nachman and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare: A Lifesaving Initiative
In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing women's health, Kalfus & Nachman has joined forces with the Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Breast Center to offer free 3D mammograms to the underserved women of Norfolk. Dubbed "The Pink Ride," this event will take place on
July 23rd, 2025, from
9:00 AM to 2:20 PM at the Kalfus & Nachman office located at
870 N Military Hwy, Suite 301, Norfolk, VA.
Addressing an Urgent Need for Early Detection
Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent cancers among women, yet financial limitations prevent many from accessing lifesaving screenings. Understanding this crucial need, Kalfus & Nachman along with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare are providing these important 3D mammogram screenings at no cost, offering women the chance for early detection. "Early detection saves lives, but access to care shouldn't depend on your insurance status," stated
Paul R. Hernandez, an attorney at Kalfus & Nachman. "We are proud to work with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare to deliver this vital service directly to our community."
Who Is Eligible?
The free 3D mammograms are available to:
- - Women aged 40 years and older, in accordance with American Cancer Society guidelines.

Why This Program is Crucial
Research indicates that 3D mammography can detect
20% to 65% more invasive cancers compared to traditional 2D imaging techniques. Alarmingly, statistics reveal that
1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime; early detection significantly boosts survival rates to over
90%. Additionally, disparities in access are evident, with uninsured women being
30% less likely to receive timely screenings - a gap that this initiative aims to bridge.
Kalfus & Nachman is calling on community organizations, local media, and residents to help raise awareness about this event, especially among populations that are most vulnerable. If you know someone who has delayed getting a mammogram due to financial constraints, this is an excellent opportunity for them to take charge of their health.
