F-Pico and Dontaku Collaborate for Sustainable Recycling
In a significant move towards a sustainable circular society, F-Pico Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Dontaku Co., Ltd., based in Nanao, Ishikawa, have proclaimed their "Eco Store Collaborative Declaration." This initiative aims to reinforce horizontal recycling, termed "Store to Store," focusing on active collaboration with the community across Dontaku's 12 stores.
Goals of the Initiative
Both companies aspire to establish their stores as local eco-leaders, contributing to environmental burden reduction and effective utilization of recycling resources.
1. Promoting "Store to Store" Horizontal Recycling
Each store of Dontaku is equipped with collection boxes for used food trays and transparent containers, encouraging community involvement. The collected materials are then processed as resources by F-Pico and transformed into eco-friendly products, including food trays and transparent containers. By utilizing these eco-products again at Dontaku stores, they realize horizontal recycling with the store as the focal point.
2. Continued Use of Eco-Friendly Products and CO2 Reduction
Through the use of eco-products, the initiative has successfully reduced 109 tons of CO2 emissions between January and December 2025. The companies will continue their commitment to using eco-products to sustain their CO2 reduction efforts.
Examples of Eco-Friendly Products:
- - Delicatessen section: Transparent clamshell packs and lids for sushi trays
- - Seafood section: Transparent lids for sashimi and sushi trays
- - Meat section: Universal white and wood-grain trays, and wrap trays for convenient seasoned products
- - Produce section: Universal black and white trays
3. Displaying the Eco Store Collaborative Declaration Poster
To raise awareness and encourage participation in the horizontal recycling initiative among customers, eco-declaration posters will be displayed in stores.
F-Pico and Dontaku are dedicated to actively collaborating with the community through this initiative, working towards the recycling of Earth’s resources and the reduction of CO2 emissions to realize a sustainable society.
