What is the 'Mirrorless Makeup Lesson'?

The 'Mirrorless Makeup Lesson' utilizes an original method developed by Polaroid, specifically aimed at individuals with visual impairments. This approach harnesses the exceptional tactile sensitivity that visually impaired individuals possess, allowing them to apply makeup purely through their sense of touch. Participants will learn to care for their skin and apply colors to create their desired look without the use of mirrors.

A unique feature of this lesson is the emphasis on coordinating both hands simultaneously, which helps achieve a more symmetrical finish. In May of last year, Polaroid released a special video highlighting the methods used in the lesson on their official YouTube channel. This video earned a Bronze Award in the PR category at the ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS.

As Polaroid moves towards its 100th anniversary in 2029, they have set a vision encapsulated in the phrase, "We Care More." Their goal is to create a society filled with connections that allows everyone, regardless of their disabilities, to enjoy beauty. The mirrorless makeup lesson is part of this broader commitment to inclusivity in the beauty industry.

Entering a new era of beauty where everyone can shine, Polaroid’s initiative demonstrates a profound understanding of the diverse needs of beauty enthusiasts. By empowering individuals with tools and experiences tailored to them, Polaroid is redefining the concept of beauty and self-expression for all.
