Navigating Japan's Industrial Crisis: Insights from JIPDEC's Upcoming Seminar

The Japan Information Economy Society Promotion Association, known as JIPDEC, is set to host a significant seminar on July 22, 2025. The focus will be on survival strategies for Japanese industries amid a turbulent digital economy landscape.

This seminar has garnered interest following the release of a crucial report entitled "Digital Economy Report: The World Consumed by Data and Strategies for Surviving a Market Without Sanctuaries" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's PIVOT project in April this year. The report emphasizes the challenges Japan faces, particularly highlighting a profound "digital deficit" that has developed in the current data-driven society. Since the emergence of major tech conglomerates colloquially referred to as GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, and Amazon), the necessity for adapting business models and competitive strategies has become increasingly critical.

The JIPDEC seminar aims to unravel the structural causes behind this digital deficit by offering an in-depth analysis of the current industrial landscape and forecasts for the future based on high-precision data analytics. Participants will gain insights into the implications of this digital shift and explore key areas Japanese businesses need to be aware of moving forward.
