Jun Maeda, the owner of the renowned Japanese tableware store Kappa-bashi Maeda, is set to showcase his first-ever calligraphy exhibition named "Fue" starting February 2, 2026. Located in the traditional tool district of Kappa-bashi in Tokyo, this event is a significant milestone in Maeda's artistic journey, where he will unveil 18 unique pieces inspired by a profound understanding of steadfastness amidst contemporary change.

Insights from Jun Maeda
In reflecting on his artistic journey, Maeda expressed, "I was genuinely inspired by the beauty of the characters inscribed on the knives I work with, which led me into the realm of calligraphy. Writing has become my form of self-meditation, a practice I engage in whenever a poignant word captures my attention during the day. The varying intensity of strokes influenced by temperature, humidity, and personal states is an embodiment of my existence. Asking myself, 'What remains unbroken in this ever-changing world?' has driven my desire to create these works which I hope deliver a gentle breeze of tranquility to your hearts."
