Eve Air Mobility Advances eVTOL Testing with Successful Flights in Brazil

Eve Air Mobility's Flight Test Progress



Eve Air Mobility has made headlines recently with the successful testing of its eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) prototype in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil. This event, which took place at Embraer’s test facility, was attended by significant figures from the Brazilian government, including the President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and other key ministers, showcasing a commitment to innovation in urban air mobility.

This flight marks a crucial milestone in Eve’s ongoing flight test campaign, which now boasts a total of 35 flights and nearly 1.5 hours of flight time since the first flight in December 2025. The prototype has demonstrated its capabilities by reaching an altitude of 140 feet (approximately 43 meters) above ground level. These initial results indicate that the aircraft is performing well in terms of propulsion and battery efficiency, surpassing initial expectations, while also maintaining noise levels significantly lower than those of traditional helicopters.

Testing Insights and Future Directions



So far, the focus of the testing has been on low-speed operations, with speeds up to 15 knots (28 km/h). This phase has enabled engineers to validate control laws and rotor aerodynamic efficiency, as well as to assess thermal behavior and the overall performance of the propulsion model. As the test campaign progresses, Eve aims to expand the flight envelope, transitioning to higher speeds and further enhancing the aircraft’s capabilities.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, expressed optimism, stating, "We are advancing with discipline and consistency in our flight test campaign, reducing risk and building the foundation for future certification flights." These statements reflect the company’s confidence in its aircraft architecture and its potential to deliver a safe and efficient solution for the urban air mobility market.

In addition to flight tests, ground testing is also being conducted, which includes calibrating sensors designed to measure aerodynamic loads during flight. Such tests are essential for expanding the flight envelope, allowing for operations at speeds of up to 30 knots (56 km/h) in the near future.

Embraer, a veteran in the aerospace sector, lends its expertise to Eve's eVTOL program, emphasizing the importance of innovation in sustainable aviation. Francisco Gomes Neto, Embraer’s President, highlighted the significant potential in the growing urban air mobility market and positioned Eve well for leadership in this sector.

Regulatory Progress and Support



As Eve advances its technical ambitions, the company is also actively participating in shaping the regulatory framework for urban air mobility in Brazil. Last week, Eve took part in launching a public consultation process aimed at informing Brazil's National Urban Air Mobility Policy, led by the Ministry of Ports and Airports.

Furthermore, financial backing from the Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES) has been instrumental for Eve, providing over BRL 1.4 billion since 2022 to support the company's initiatives in sustainable aviation and digital innovation.

Eve's commitment to advancing the urban air mobility ecosystem is also reflected in its technological developments, including Eve Vector, a sophisticated software for urban air traffic management, and Eve TechCare, an operational support and aftermarket service platform.

The successful completion of technical milestones and approvals from relevant regulatory authorities remain pivotal for the upcoming certification of the eVTOL aircraft. As Eve continues pushing the boundaries of urban air mobility, its progress not only signals advancements in aviation technology but also a commitment to creating a cleaner, more efficient future for urban transportation.
