Kanamic Network's Successful Project Completion in Singapore
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced the successful completion of a project aimed at the establishment of a healthcare information sharing system in Singapore. Led by Kanamic Network Corporation, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, this initiative was critical in evaluating the use of Japan's health and medical information-sharing systems and enhancing international competitive advantages.
Project Overview
As Singapore faces rapid aging, the project aligns with the country's health initiatives, particularly the
Healthier SG program initiated in July 2023 targeting citizens aged 60 and above. The project sought to assess the feasibility and adapt Japanese healthcare technologies in Singapore's unique landscape.
The project employed Kanamic's cloud services and tailored them for the Singaporean environment, implementing trials across four types of services: facilities-based, home-based, community support, and medical institutions.
Key Outcomes
1.
Verification of System Usability
The usability of the Japanese model was confirmed within local medical and caregiving settings. It was found that the information-sharing system fit well with local operations, leading to improved workflow efficiencies and enhanced care quality. Local staff praised the system's operational ease and user-friendliness.
2.
Stable Operation in Local Context
By harnessing cloud infrastructures tailored for the Singapore region, the project established reliable operations within Singapore's telecommunications environment. Compliance with local regulations, including PDPA and HCSA, was also ensured, strengthening the security aspect of the system.
3.
Clarified Regulatory Landscape
A systematic review of Singapore's legal framework related to PDPA, HCSA, and upcoming NEHR regulations was conducted, laying out a clear direction for regulatory compliance in further deployments.
Future Plans
1.
Field Trials
The next phase involves conducting field trials of the Singapore-specific Kanamic Cloud Service for participating care providers, accelerating the transition to implementation.
2.
Certification Acquisition
Collaborating with Synapxe, efforts will be made to obtain system certification and implement NEHR linkage functions. This aims to create services compliant with the upcoming
Health Information Law enforced in 2027.
3.
Full Market Deployment
With TWM Pte Ltd at the core, Kanamic plans to build a solid operational base within Singapore, documenting tangible results and establishing a successful model of Japanese caregiving DX (Digital Transformation) abroad.
4.
Wider ASEAN Expansion
Singapore will serve as a hub for technology and business model transfers to other ASEAN countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, bridging the growing healthcare needs due to rapid aging in these nations.
Through this project, Kanamic aims to validate its advanced healthcare systems' applicability and utility in Singapore, looking to branch out into the wider ASEAN market to tackle issues such as workforce shortages and rising healthcare costs.
