Precision BioLogic Innovation in Hemostatic Research
Precision BioLogic Inc. is making significant strides in the field of hemostasis diagnostics, attracting interest from clinicians and researchers worldwide. This leading developer of diagnostic products has combined its expertise with that of its subsidiaries, Affinity Biologicals and George King Bio-Medical, creating a robust platform for innovation in this crucial area of healthcare.
Since last fall, when Precision BioLogic announced enhancements to its CRYOcheck™ Chromogenic Factor VIII test, the company has seen an impressive increase in inquiries related to its products. This was propelled by the anticipated approval of new treatments for hemophilia, particularly Mim8, a next-generation bispecific antibody designed for treating Hemophilia A. The rush of inquiries grew following Novo Nordisk's filing with the U.S. FDA for Mim8.
“During this summer's ISTH 2026 conference in Paris, we received numerous queries about our bovine-derived Chromogenic Factor VIII and its ability to accurately measure Factor VIII in the presence of not only extended half-life factor VIII replacement products, but also emerging bispecific factor VIIIa mimetics,” says Paul Empey, the President and CEO of Precision BioLogic. “There is an increasing awareness of the necessity for chromogenic testing, and we are committed to ensuring coagulation laboratories are equipped to provide precise results,” he adds.
The company’s research capabilities were also prominently featured at the ISTH event with two scientific posters presented. These posters focused on:
- - Automated testing for lupus anticoagulants resistant to anticoagulant medications, including direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) and oral factor XI inhibitors.
- - The impact of thermostable factor VIII mimetics and replacement treatments on inhibitor titers, evaluated using a modified Nijmegen-Bethesda assay in various chromogenic tests of bovine-derived Factor VIII.
Following ISTH, the team presented at ADLM 2026 in Anaheim, California, showcasing the production capabilities and custom solutions of Affinity Biologicals. The team then participated in the Bleeding Disorders Conference organized by the National Blood Disorder Foundation (NBDF) in Orlando, Florida, where George King Bio-Medical engaged with patients and families dealing with bleeding disorders, healthcare professionals, advocates, researchers, and community stakeholders to discuss the significance of plasma donation in advancing diagnostic and treatment research.
As the busy summer season draws to a close, the momentum continues through the collaboration of these three organizations, dedicated to providing reliable products, responsive service, and relevant innovations to the global hemostasis community.
