New Partnership Announcement
Hachidori Energy, which operates a 100% renewable energy retail service, has recently entered into a partnership with Members’ Decarbonization DX Company. This collaboration aims to address climate change and create a sustainable, decarbonized society. Founded by Borderless Japan, Hachidori Energy focuses exclusively on providing green energy solutions, and this new alliance with Members will enhance their efforts in helping enterprises reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Background of the Partnership
As climate change is a global issue, companies are increasingly expected to minimize their greenhouse gas emissions, including those from their supply chains. Members’ Decarbonization DX Company offers solutions aimed at supporting businesses on their decarbonization journey through three primary steps: measuring, reducing, and profiting. Specifically, introducing renewable energy is viewed as an immediate and effective strategy within the reduction phase.
Recognizing the challenges faced by companies in managing greenhouse gas emissions, this partnership seeks to provide a one-stop solution. Together, they can visualize greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate reductions through the adoption of renewable energy, thereby promoting decarbonization initiatives that can be communicated both internally and externally.
Hachidori Energy adheres to the RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) standard by exclusively providing renewable energy options.
Collaborative Efforts Ahead
Both organizations plan to leverage their unique strengths to deliver tailored solutions to companies pursuing decarbonization. This includes:
- - Support for Renewable Energy Adoption: This encompasses assistance with switching electricity supply and securing environmental value through non-fossil certificates.
- - Visualization and Data Analysis of GHG Emissions: Based on calculated and visualized emissions data, companies can identify areas for improvement.
- - Strategies for Utilizing Renewable Energy: Proposals regarding the usage of renewable energy as a strategy for managing Scope emissions.
- - Co-hosted Training Sessions: Educational meetings and workshops to deepen understanding of sustainability management.
- - Impact Reporting Support: Assistance in producing impact reports and narratives for both internal and external stakeholders.
Hachidori Energy and Members aim to construct a consistent support framework that spans from energy sourcing to emissions reduction, calculation, visualization, and decarbonization marketing.
Special Benefits for Corporate Members
To aid in corporate decarbonization and the circular economy, Hachidori Energy will offer its ‘Hachidori Energy Members Corporate Plan.’ This program provides free services tailored to companies grappling with internal understanding and penetration of these concepts. The program includes two distinct plans:
1.
Plan A: A one-time, 60-minute internal seminar on decarbonization management and environmental issues. Both online and in-person formats are available to accommodate any number of participants.
2.
Plan B: A 120-minute workshop on the circular economy. This interactive session will include global best practices and utilize the ‘Circularity Deck’ method developed in the Netherlands to generate ideas for business and service models.
Note: Both plans are available to the first ten companies that register by September 2025.
Future Directions
Moving forward, the partnership looks to expand efforts to support corporate decarbonization through further co-hosted seminars and case studies from participating companies. They also aim to develop broader collaborations that may include strategies for visualizing Scope 3 emissions and dedicated sustainability training for employees. By facilitating the adoption of renewable energy, the organizations hope to empower more companies to take significant steps as “practitioners” in stopping climate change.
Upcoming Online Seminar
An online seminar is scheduled for companies contemplating the introduction of renewable energy. It will encompass detailed case studies from both Hachidori Energy and Members, along with sessions for discussion between both parties.
Overview of the Seminar:
- - Date and Time: April 22, 2025, 16:00 - 17:15
