Shinjuku Tourism Association Partners with InfoMotion for Event Data Integration

Shinjuku Tourism Association's Innovative Integration with InfoMotion

In a significant move to enhance event information accessibility, the Shinjuku Tourism Association has partnered with InfoMotion, a company based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, to integrate event data into its tourism website, Shinjuku Kanko. This initiative aims to alleviate the growing challenges in collecting and disseminating event information, ensuring that both tourists and residents are kept informed about local happenings.

Background of the Integration

In today's digital era, the way events are promoted and gathered has dramatically shifted, predominantly due to the rise of websites and social media platforms. However, this increase in online event listings has made it increasingly burdensome for tourism associations to manually gather, organize, and publish this information. For the Shinjuku Tourism Association, the task of managing such data has become a significant time drain, requiring many personnel to balance this with their other responsibilities. This reality necessitated a more efficient system to streamline event information management and to enhance the appeal of the area to a diverse visitor base.

To tackle these challenges, the collaboration with InfoMotion's AI Event Information Aggregation Service was initiated, allowing for the automatic collection and generation of detailed event articles.

Features and Benefits of the Integration

1. Automation of Event Collection and Article Creation

By leveraging cutting-edge AI technology, this service will automate the collection of event data for happenings within the Shinjuku area. This efficiency not only expedites the dissemination of information but also frees up staff to focus on creating more in-depth feature articles rather than getting bogged down in the minutiae of data collection.

2. Comprehensive Event Coverage

The AI Event Information Aggregation Service thoroughly gathers event details from a multitude of online sources, significantly amplifying the volume of events listed. With this expansion, the tourism site can cater to the diverse preferences of visitors, ultimately enhancing the user experience and supporting local members in boosting their event attendance. The integration aims to cover six main categories: Entertainment, Festivals & Traditions, Culture, Gourmet, Shopping, and Hotels. It also includes flag data to easily identify events affiliated with Association members.

3. Event Registration Form for Association Members

A dedicated event information registration form will be established for association members, streamlining communication and reducing the back-and-forth commonly encountered in the event submission process.

Vision of the Integration

Through the integration of automatically collected data from the web and information submitted by association members via the registration form, a comprehensive event information database will be created. After visual inspection by the InfoMotion staff, tourism association personnel will review the data to determine its suitability for publication on the tourism site, made accessible via an API.

Informative Sessions for Association Members

To maximize the effectiveness of this initiative, information sessions have been organized for association members, explaining the goals and potential benefits of the partnership. These sessions also encourage a sense of ownership among members regarding their communications, fostering an enthusiasm for sharing local events with the public.

The feedback received during the sessions has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the real challenges members face in information dissemination.

Statements on the Partnership

Comments from the Shinjuku Tourism Association: The abundance of historical, cultural, and industrial resources in Shinjuku leads to numerous events being held daily. By improving our capability to gather and disseminate this information promptly, we aim to not only increase the volume of available data but also allow our staff to engage in more creative pursuits such as local feature pieces, thus enriching the overall attractiveness of Shinjuku.

Comments from InfoMotion: We take pride in providing effective event aggregation services, and partnering with the Shinjuku Tourism Association, one of Japan's premier tourist destinations, is a remarkable opportunity. Through this collaboration, we aim to further amplify Shinjuku's appeal and contribute positively to its tourism revival.
