Talents Tokyo 2025: Shining a Spotlight on Asian Filmmakers
The Talents Tokyo 2025 initiative, launched by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, aims to foster talent in the film sector. This year, the program will include 17 exceptionally talented participants from various regions across Asia, alongside four industry-leading professionals who will serve as mentors.
To kick off the excitement leading to the main event, a special screening will take place on November 8th and 9th at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. This screening will spotlight the remarkable works of past Talents Tokyo alumni. The featured films include the acclaimed "Renoir" by director Hayakawa Chie, which made its mark at the Cannes Film Festival's competition, as well as "Cu Li Never Cries" by director Pham Ngoc Lan and "Pears: Heart Piercing" by director Nerishia Low.
On November 8th, following the screening of "Renoir," there will be an engaging talk session with directors Hayakawa Chie and Hiroshi Kurosawa, providing a valuable opportunity for attendees to gain insight into their creative processes and the context surrounding their films.
