Florida Southern College Welcomes Stacy Walsh as New CMO to Enhance Marketing and Communications Strategy

Florida Southern College Welcomes Stacy Walsh as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

Florida Southern College is thrilled to announce the appointment of Stacy Walsh as the new Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMO). An alumna of the college, Walsh joins the institution with an impressive background that spans two decades in marketing, communications, and leadership.

Walsh previously served as the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Florida Southern, where she successfully led two significant brand campaigns in a mere six months. Her initiatives unified various campus divisions and developed a coherent visual identity alongside refined messaging and updated style guidelines—both of which mirror Florida Southern's commitment to excellence and tradition. Walsh's collaborative approach highlights her dedication to showcasing the achievements of faculty while also accentuating the vibrant student life experience at the college.

In her own words, Walsh expressed her excitement: "It has been an incredible privilege to collaborate with so many talented colleagues across campus. The strength of our brand truly reflects the collective energy, creativity, and commitment of the Florida Southern community. More than 20 years ago, I was an intern in this very office. To now have the chance to support an institution that gave me so much is a true honor."

In her new role, Walsh will be the leading strategist for Florida Southern’s brand development, integrated marketing, and communications. She will report directly to President Jeremy Martin, Ph.D., and will also be a member of the college’s Senior Leadership Team. Her responsibilities will include overseeing key initiatives that aim to elevate Florida Southern's visibility on a national scale, enhance engagement with prospective students, alumni, and donors, and ensure that the college’s storytelling resonates with its mission and values.

Dr. Martin commented on Walsh's promotion, stating, "We are pleased to see Stacy advance to this leadership role as we work together to elevate the visibility, reputation, and impact of Florida Southern College."

Before rejoining Florida Southern, Walsh held notable positions such as Vice President of Development at United Way of Central Florida and Chief Development and Marketing Officer for the YMCA of West Central Florida. She managed the local implementation of the national YMCA rebrand, navigated crisis communications during the COVID-19 pandemic, and executed award-winning campaigns across Central Florida. Walsh is also recognized as a respected community leader, having served on various boards including SPCA Florida and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Walsh's appointment underscores Florida Southern College's ongoing commitment to strategic communications and the art of storytelling, further enhancing its visibility within the educational landscape. Founded in 1883, Florida Southern College is the oldest private institution in Florida, offering more than 70 undergraduate programs and distinctive graduate degrees in various fields such as business administration, education, nursing, and physical therapy. With a favorable student-to-faculty ratio of 141:1, Florida Southern stands as a national leader in engaged learning.

The college proudly boasts 30 NCAA Division II National Championships and ranks favorably in several categories—11th among "Best Regional Universities in the South," 12th in "Most Innovative Schools," and 24th in "Best Value Schools," as noted in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report. Furthermore, Florida Southern is celebrated in The Princeton Review’s 2026 Best 391 Colleges guide and the "Fiske Guide to Colleges 2025." The significance of the college's AACSB-accredited Barney Barnett School of Business and its renowned School of Education and Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences further enhances its reputation.

Adding to its architectural charm, Florida Southern College is home to the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright’s single-site architecture, comprising 13 structures designed by the maestro himself. With the entry of Stacy Walsh into the pivotal role of CMO, Florida Southern College is poised to propel its mission forward and continue its legacy of excellence in education.
