ClearSky Health Expands Rehabilitation Services in Eau Claire, Wisconsin
ClearSky Health, a leading provider in rehabilitative healthcare, is set to unveil its latest facility. The new hospital, strategically located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, will mark the organization's 16th medical rehabilitation hospital across the United States. Scheduled to open in mid-2026, this 36-bed facility aims to fill a critical gap in post-acute healthcare services in the region.
Addressing Local Healthcare Needs
As the healthcare landscape evolves, there is a pressing need for dedicated rehabilitation services for patients recovering from serious health events. The
ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Eau Claire will specialize in treating individuals with complex conditions such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, and multiple sclerosis. With an expected capacity to serve over 650 patients annually, this facility will also bring approximately 100 new jobs to the area, contributing to local economic growth.
Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health, emphasizes the significance of this facility, stating, "Our goal is to improve the well-being of individuals in the region by addressing a gap in post-acute healthcare services. ClearSky Eau Claire will complement existing acute care services by allowing patients to remain near their homes to receive a higher level of treatment needed to help them maximize their recoveries, regain independence, and return to their homes."
Improved Accessibility for Patients
One of the standout features of the new hospital is its focus on accessibility. Brockette highlights the burden that comes with seeking treatment away from home, saying, "By offering this advanced care close to home, we'll help patients and their families avoid the logistical, financial, and emotional concerns of traveling, taking time off from work, or staying overnight out of town while a loved one receives treatment."
The hospital will be staffed by an interdisciplinary healthcare team that includes physicians, rehabilitation nurses, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, case managers, respiratory therapists, and dietitians. This collaborative approach ensures that every patient receives comprehensive care tailored to their specific recovery needs.
State-of-the-Art Facilities to Enhance Patient Care
Spanning
45,000 square feet, the ClearSky Eau Claire facility will feature private rooms designed for comfort and privacy. The hospital will include a rehabilitative gym equipped with specialized tools for one-on-one therapy, a dining area managed by a dedicated chef, and a space designed to mimic home conditions to facilitate daily living activities. Additionally, an outdoor therapeutic courtyard will provide a serene environment for patient rehabilitation.
Brockette mentions the commitment to patient care, asserting, "Our staff will go above and beyond normal service expectations to provide patients with optimal results."
Evidence of Successful Outcomes
ClearSky Health's approach aligns with national research which indicates that patients treated at specialized rehabilitation hospitals tend to return home sooner, enjoy longer stays at home, experience fewer hospital readmissions and emergency visits, and ultimately live longer compared to those receiving care in nursing homes or skilled facilities.
With existing operations in states such as Arizona, Florida, Kansas, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin, ClearSky Health is not just expanding its reach but also its impact on the communities it serves. Plans are already underway for four additional hospitals in Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin, showcasing the organization’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality nationwide.
As ClearSky Health prepares for the opening of its Eau Claire location, community members can look forward to improved healthcare options that prioritize recovery, independence, and overall well-being. This development not only represents a boost in local jobs and economy but also a newfound hope for those in need of rehabilitative care.
