Ethiopian Prime Minister's Visit to TOYO's Solar Facility
On April 15, 2025, TOYO Co., Ltd. had the honor of hosting H.E. Abiy Ahmed Ali, the Ethiopian Prime Minister, at their modern solar cell production plant located in Phu Tho Province, Vietnam. The visit was accompanied by a notable ministerial delegation along with Mr. Nguyen Manh Son, Vice Governor of Phu Tho Province. Lewis Cai, Executive Vice President of TOYO's parent company, Abalance Group, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries.
During the visit, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was given a tour of TOYO's sophisticated intelligent solar cell production line. He expressed admiration for the company's innovation and vast international presence in the photovoltaic sector. The Prime Minister highlighted that renewable energy is critical for Ethiopia's energy transition and hoped to boost the second-phase expansion of TOYO's solar production facility in Ethiopia.
TOYO is keenly expanding its operations in Hawassa, Ethiopia, enhancing their existing capacity from 2 GW to 4 GW. This expansion is not just a corporate move but is also aligned with Ethiopia's commitment to sustainable energy development. The expansion project is set to be completed by July 2025, with an expected production start in August 2025.
In addition to the facility tour, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed invited Abalance Group to play a significant role in Ethiopia's renewable energy initiatives, particularly in the development of photovoltaic power plants.
