Introducing MONSTROUSA × TEZUKA WORLD: A Unique Collection Blending Fashion and Art

MONSTROUSA × TEZUKA WORLD Collaboration

Starting March 9, 2026, MONSTROUSA, the apparel brand by the Tokyo-based clothing design company Dadagram, will launch a special collection titled MONSTROUSA × TEZUKA WORLD. This collaboration features limited-edition items inspired by the iconic works of Osamu Tezuka, including the renowned characters from Astro Boy and Black Jack.

The collection emphasizes not just clothing but a dialogue between art and fashion, making it a conversation starter for those who wear it.

In celebration of this collaboration, a pop-up event will be held in Shibuya at SOCIAL TOKYO from March 21 to March 22, featuring the theme MANGA Mutates into ART. The two-day event will showcase a pop-up shop alongside a live printing event, allowing attendees to customize their clothing with character art that typically can only be purchased online.

A Fresh Interpretation of Tezuka's Masterpieces

The team behind this collaboration includes talented artists who reimagine Tezuka's works through their unique styles. The polygonal art of Astro Boy, created by MonkeyDesign, retains the essence of the original character while offering a distinctive twist. KANA SUZUKI, known for her rising career in manga, provides her unique touch to the world of Black Jack. Other participating artists include Yoshimura Naritake and Adachi Masato.

The artworks respect the original stories while pushing boundaries to deliver fresh artistic expressions.

Unique Clothing Line

Each piece in the collection is crafted with attention to detail, from prints to embroidery, aiming to transform the viewer’s perception of character apparel into wearable art. The designs are not merely character prints but pieces that initiate discussions and elicit emotions. As new items will continue to be added, fans and collectors alike are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.

The pop-up shop in Shibuya will feature a selection of these unique items:
  • - M/TAG T-shirts “ATOM” feat. MonkeyDesign at ¥10,000 (excluding tax)
  • - Spectrum Shishu Denim JKT “ATOM” feat. MonkeyDesign at ¥50,000 (excluding tax)
  • - M/TAG Shishu Hoodie feat. KANA SUZUKI at ¥22,000 (excluding tax)

Event Highlights in Shibuya

This two-day event in Shibuya not only allows fans to explore MONSTROUSA's offerings but also experience live printing, which provides the opportunity to customize existing clothing with exclusive character art.

The visual representation of this collection features actor Tokiwa Emoto and actress Honami Sato, who channel the essence of characters like Atom, Black Jack, Uran, and Pinoko through their styling. Their performances beautifully capture the intersection of reality and fiction, adding depth to the artistic vision of the collection.

Emoto comments, “Tezuka’s works have always inspired many, and to be part of this project is incredible.
