In 2020, Sugano attempted to transition to the majors through the posting system but did not secure a contract and stayed in Japan. Nevertheless, he never gave up on his major league aspirations. In 2024, he again took the plunge into the major leagues and succeeded, earning an impressive total of 10 wins in his debut year.

Hisashi Nagano, who also faced rejection twice before ultimately securing his place with the Giants, will reflect on his own career and the challenges he encountered along the way, culminating in his decision to retire this year.
