ARTIDA OUD Expands Kindergarten Initiative in Bihar, India
ARTIDA OUD, a jewelry brand known for its unique concept of "Raw Scents of Glimmer," is making significant strides in enhancing educational opportunities for children in India through its philanthropic endeavor. The brand’s "I am" Donation project has successfully raised 10 million yen, which will be allocated to reviving and expanding the "Educational Environment Improvement Program" in Bihar, India.
Background
According to the Gender Gap Index 2025 published by the World Economic Forum, India ranks 131st out of 146 countries, indicating a pressing need for initiatives aimed at reducing gender disparities. A particularly alarming concern is the widening gap in education as children transition from primary to secondary schooling, where the proportion of girls receiving vocational training is significantly lower than that of boys.
Despite the recognized importance of early childhood education, many children, especially those from impoverished or marginalized backgrounds, face barriers to accessing kindergarten facilities. In Bihar, only about 53% of eligible children attend preschool, and existing institutions often suffer from inadequate resources and poor conditions. Moreover, many preschool teachers lack proper training, which hampers their ability to provide appropriate guidance and care. Parents often do not realize the importance of early education, exacerbating the problem.
As a result, many children enter primary school unprepared, struggling to adapt and keep up with the curriculum. Through this project, ARTIDA OUD aims to create high-quality early education environments that prepare children for future academic success.
Project Overview
The initiative aims to achieve significant outcomes, including:
- - The establishment of six new kindergartens equipped with reading corners and hygiene facilities.
- - Training for preschool teachers to enhance their teaching skills and educational support.
- - Increased awareness among parents regarding the importance of early education, encouraging their active participation.
These efforts will enable both boys and girls in the targeted regions to receive equitable, safe, and comfortable learning conditions, ensuring they are adequately prepared for primary education. The introduction of sanitation facilities will also improve hygiene conditions, helping instill habits that can prevent infections. Furthermore, this initiative aims to boost awareness within the community about children's education, particularly for girls, fostering an early culture of gender equality.
