Prescient Edge Recognized at GovCon Awards for Innovation in Naval AI and Unmanned Systems
Prescient Edge Wins Prestigious Recognition
Prescient Edge Corporation (PEC) has made waves in the defense sector by being awarded the esteemed "Program of the Year" at the 2024 Greater Washington GovCon Awards. This recognition underscores PEC's groundbreaking contributions towards advancing the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command's (NAVCENT) Task Force 59's capabilities, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence with unmanned systems across air, sea, and underwater operations.
Established in 2021, Task Force 59 aims at augmenting maritime surveillance and operational efficiency through unmanned technologies. PEC has taken a pivotal role as the primary integrator in this initiative, orchestrating the development and deployment of a cohesive network comprising over 23 autonomous systems. This integration positions Task Force 59 as a frontrunner in maritime innovations, significantly enhancing the Navy's reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities. With advanced AI-enabled sensors, radars, and cameras, the task force is now able to monitor critical maritime zones more comprehensively than ever.
In an exclusive statement, Alexander Granados, CEO of PEC, commented, "Unmanned systems and AI represent the future of national defense and warfare. We are proud to support the U.S. Navy's mission to harness cutting-edge technology to advance maritime security and fulfill our global security objectives."
Under a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract, PEC has facilitated the coordination of nearly 30 multinational exercises. These collaborative efforts have not only reinforced U.S. military partnerships with allies but have also showcased the efficacy of delivering networked intelligence—creating a real-time and shared comprehension of maritime activity. This groundbreaking work has prompted other Navy fleets and task forces to adopt similar operational frameworks and standards, further embracing the integration of AI with unmanned and manned systems.
In addition to being named "Program of the Year," PEC has also been recognized as a finalist for Contractor of the Year in the $75M-$300M bracket. Furthermore, CEO Alexander Granados was nominated as a finalist for Executive of the Year, evidencing the impact of his leadership within the organization.
